Neiman MarcusWhat are you wearing on New Year's Eve?

Could it be this fabulous Marchesa Sequined Shift Dress (Neiman Marcus, $3,960)?

No?

How about a more budget-appropriate sequined mini?

Or maybe you're sticking with a little black dress and festive New Year's mask or hat.

I remember plenty of years when my plans involved bar hopping, night clubbing, and standing outside dancing with other street revelers.

Now, though, times have changed.

Want to see what I'm wearing New Year's Eve? Read on!

Forever LazyYes, friends, THIS is what I'll probably be wearing tonight -- provided I make it home at all. Right now, I'm still in Des Moines, getting ready to head home on two different flights and praying that both of them are on time.

After suffering from a horrible cold and sinus infection earlier this week and taking a major course of antibiotics in order to "make it work" at our CafeMom Coffee Chat with Newt Gingrich yesterday, I am COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED. And guess what? Now my husband has caught the cold!

We'll be lucky to make it to midnight at all!

Since having children, our New Year's Eve plans have pretty much gone kaput. I'd say New Year's Eve is the most difficult evening of the year to find a babysitter -- most years, we don't even try.

We have a few fireworks to set off for the kids in the street (shhh. Don't tell!), a bottle of champagne in the fridge, and we'll keep our fingers crossed that we make it to the countdown. Don't count on it, though!

HOWEVER, I'd love to live vicariously through you guys today. What are YOU wearing tonight? And what are your plans to celebrate?

Dish!
