Kate Middleton turns 30 on January 9 and word on the Internet is that Pippa and Prince Harry are planning a huge, '80s-themed birthday party fit with designer cocktails and a karaoke machine. I would give my right eye to be able to swig tequila and sing a Heart ballad with the Duchess, but I suppose that's neither here nor there. Anyway, if this is true, if the Pips and Harry are really throwing Kate an '80s party, then we've got to do our best to ensure that Kate's prepared. It's an awesome decade, I happen to love '80s fashion, but it's more tongue in cheek than it is stylish. It's fun -- who doesn't love an armful of neon jelly bracelets? -- but can our Duchess, our beloved Duchess of Cambridge, dare to look a bit ridiculous on her birthday?
I certainly hope so. We know she likes to have a good time, remember her roller skating disco outfit? So with that in mind, here are two awesome '80s ensembles suitable for the fun-loving royal.
Kate would look hot to trot in this cocktail hour '80s get-up. As long as she teased her hair and committed to some over the top makeup, she'd look like she just stepped out of her 1984 senior prom. Give Prince William a mullet and a navy suit and they'd be the belles of the ball.
Now if Kate wanted to go in another direction and go all '80s hipster, this would be a good route to take. Her ass couldn't stop, wouldn't stop in that red mini. And girl's got some abs so might as well show them off in that belly baring top. Throw her hair in a side pony with a scrunchie and the look is complete.
Now. If only I was her stylist ...
What do you think Kate should wear for her '80s party?
