Clik here to view. We've all heard our fair share of wackadoodle celebrity beauty "secrets." From Demi Moore's leech therapy to Gwyneth Paltrow's snake venom facial, stars are always looking for new ways to look fresh. But none of these unconventional beauty treatments measure up to Snooki's skin care regimen. The Jersey Shore actress spoke with Conan O'Brien Wednesday night about her clear skin secret, which she shares in her new book, Confessions of a Guidette.
"I don’t like to spend a lot of money on spa treatments, just because I’m, like, a cheapo. So I Googled what else I could use that’s, like, not so expensive, and it was ..."
Let's pause for just one moment. If you're like me, her skin secret is going to make you gag. You're probably going to question whether or not this is a publicity stunt. Most of all, though, you're going to wonder why on earth she thinks putting a product made for pets on her face is a good idea.
Here we go ...
Cat Litter. Watch Snooki talk about it on Conan (skip to around 1:35) here:
I really can't decide if this is legitimate or if it's all for show. I can see the uneducated thought process behind it, though (no offense, Snooks). Kitty litter is really grainy. Grainy face washes exfoliate the skin. Since kitty litter comes in massive quantities, this is a way to save money and get the same results. Easy-peasy!
I'm with Conan on this one though. Doesn't Snooki realize there have got to be some HORRIBLE things in kitty litter? You know, like whatever it is that covers up the smell of cat poop -- or whatever attracts the furry little friends to the litter box in the first place? Maybe Snooki is just a crazy cat lady at heart? Okay, I take that back. She's just cheap.
It's funny, the things we do for beauty. While I've never used cat litter as an exfoliant, I have tried other tricks like putting toothpaste on bad blemishes to make them go away or placing warm teabags on my eyelids to reduce the puffiness. I'm all for unconventional, inexpensive methods of at-home DIY beauty, but I think I'll stick to my trustworthy $12.99 clinically tested face wash.
What do you think of Snooki's beauty secret?
