Clik here to view. The all-white trend might seem like something only a 6-foot, 89-pound, 18-year-old runway model can pull off, but surprisingly, that's not true. All white was everywhere on the spring/summer 2013 runways, from Rebecca Minkoff to Valentino, and it's actually a really beautiful look to wear into the cold months. (Unless you're a stickler for that Labor Day rule. I am not!) Celebs wear all white all the time and so can the rest of us mere mortals, with a few tips and tricks ...
1. Mix your materials and textures. For example: white jeans + white denim shirt? No. White jeans + a white crochet top? OUI. I'm in lurve with the Dolce Vita Abelle Lace-Crochet Sheer Top pictured above. (On sale for $88 at NeimanMarcus.com) Or, take those same white jeans and top them off with a white silk tank top or a crisp white tee.

2. Wear a LWD.Angelina Jolie knows the value of a little white dress replacing a LBD; Jolie wore a stunning white ensemble to the premiere of Brad Pitt's latest movie, World War Z. For something a little less glitzy but still ultra pretty, check out this beaded linen sheath dress for $49.99 at Jones New York, or this adorable White House Black Market Geo Textured Tulip-Skirt Dress, pictured here. (On sale for $49.99 at ShopStyle.com)
3. A white blazer with skinny white jeans or a great pair of white shorts will look crisp, clean, and fresh.
4. Don't be afraid of different "shades" of white. Bright white on the bottom and something creamier on the top (or vice versa) will look gorgeous.

5. Accessorize. You can go all out with white accessories like jewelry, shoes, and/or sunglasses and look amazing. White pumps like these white leather pumps by Guess ($99 at Zappos) are white HOT and will go with a lot of other outfits, like cream, denim, and black. Or, you can go for some contrast, like a bold neon bag and a big chunky, colorful necklace, or something neutral, like tan shoes or a beige belt.
6. Go for quality. A chintzy pair of white shorts that you can see right through will not serve you well. White clothes, especially bottoms, are not the items to really pinch pennies on.
7. Make sure the fit is good. White clothes that are too tight are especially unforgiving.
And last but not least ...
8. Consider your undergarments carefully. Even well made white garments can be a little less opaque, so a flesh-colored camisole might be in order. Stick with undies that match your skin tone rather than trying to wear white under white.
