I have to admit, over the last few years, beach cover-ups have become my go-to summer staple. Sometimes I wear them to the beach or pool, but more often, I wear them over shorts and a camisole. I love them because they're machine washable, more stylish than a t-shirt, and since they're technically beach wear, they're cheaper than ordinary street clothes.
WIN!
Now is a perfect time to pick up a few, since we still have a couple more warm months to go and all things summer-related are now on sale. Here are a few of my favorites:
I may not be able to resist this exquisite Tunic Dress (Ralph Lauren Blue Label, $64 on sale), which would look great over a black tank and shorts or over a black slip dress. LOVE.
Here is my dream cover-up. I love Tory Burch, but her clothing is way out of my financial reach. Her cover-ups are now on sale everywhere, though, and while still expensive, they're waaaay less than a regular Tory Burch tunic top. This particular Tory Burch tunic cover-up from Shopbop is $165, down from $275.
I love the sleeves on this simple Earth Dancin' Cover Up (Zappos, $34.99). You can't go wrong with a simple white flowy top. Wear it with skinny jeans or shorts.
Show off your nautical style with this Tommy Bahama Striped Cover-Up (Neiman Marcus, $30 on sale). I'd wear this alone or with white capris.
Now this is summer cover-up style at its finest. I'm completely in WANT with this Elan Cover-Up Convertible Dress (Nordstrom, $42). How about you?
This sophisticated ikat Calvin Klein pareo (Zappos, $42.99) would make a great summer date night dress.
This Debbie Katz Embroidered Cover-Up Dress (Bloomingdale's, $66) has a Lilly Pulitzer vibe that I'm loving.
I actually bought this Kenneth Cole Reaction Cover-Up Dress (Macy's, $22.50 on sale) this summer, and have been wearing it all season over a black camisole. It's fantastic! And CHEAP!
Do you wear cover-ups out on the town?
