I think we all remember hearing about Lauren Scruggs' accident. The 23-year-old fashion blogger exited a small, private plane and walked into the moving propeller in early December and was horrifically injured in the accident -- she lost her left hand and eye. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries, and now, about six weeks later, Scruggs has been spotted taking a walk outside her rehabilitation hospital with her mom, dad, and twin sister.
Lauren, who's done some modelling and was behind the fashion blog BlogbyLoLo, has made, what her parents call, a remarkable recovery. And I'm certainly apt to agree.
Lauren, who goes by Lo, looks fantastic in the video. Dressed in gym clothes and a Dallas Cowboy hat, she even seems happy. Of course I'm sure she's still extremely traumatized and still has a long road ahead of her, but wow. I'm happy to see that she's out and about, smiling, and hugging her family. The eye patch and the dangling sleeve are our only clues that Lo's been through something life-changing.
Guilana Rancic, the E! host and fashion policewoman, has tweeted her support for Lauren, saying that her spirit is inspiring. Guilana, no stranger to the sudden wrenches life can throw at you, recently underwent a double mastectomy and likely understands what kind of perseverance and strength it takes to come out on the other side of trauma with grace and hope.
Lauren has yet to give an interview, but I'm sure that time will come. And who knows, maybe in a couple of months, she'll be back to blogging and living out her fashion dreams. Here's to her continued success and amazing recovery.
