I love the clothes, but the beauty and hair looks from Fashion Week are really my favorite part of the whole thing. Maybe it's because I can actually afford to buy makeup ... designer clothes, not so much! Of course, some of the beauty looks, while totally gorgeous, tend toward the more theatrical -- great for a show; not necessarily translatable into "real life." But there are always some fabulous looks that are totally steal-able, and this Fashion Week has been no exception.
Let me start by asking you: When's the last time you wore mint green eye shadow?!
Romy Soleimani (for Beauty.com) used Stila cosmetics for the bright, fresh beauty to go along with bright, fresh designs of Lela Rose. Let's get a close-up of those eyes, shall we?
Stunning! And so simple! Here's all the makeup Romy used (but honestly the hero of this look is a nicely pigmented, bright eye shadow or pencil that complements your eye color):
Skin: Stila Stay All Day Concealer; Stila Color Correcting Stick SPF 20 ($23 and $38 at Beauty.com)
Eyes:Stila Color Pigments in Light Show; Stila Eye Shadow in Cha Cha; Stila Glamoureyes Mascara; Stila Convertible Color in Camellia ($18 - $25 at Beauty.com)
I also love the pretty pink lip; for that, Romy usedStila Color Balm Lipstick in Betsey and Stila Convertible Color in Fuchsia ($22 anf $25 at Beauty.com).
Do you love it?
This model's shadow looks more yellow -- maybe to accentuate hazel or brown eyes?
Moving on ... I swoon over this coral lipstick look, created by Bobbi Brown makeup artist Cassandra Garcia for the Marissa Webb show:
Alas, the actual color she used -- "Blazing Red" Rich Lip Color -- won't be available until next spring, but a good one to try right now would be Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in "Guava" or "Sweet Nectar" ($25 each). A pretty, rich coral lip looks so beautiful with a really simple rest of the face.
And finally (last but not least), the totally gorgeous, glam look created by Lancôme makeup artist Diane Kendal for Jason Wu's runway show:
Beautiful! Here's what it looks like when the model closes her eyes:
I can't wait to have a night out or a party invitation so I can try this out!
Lancôme products used on the eyes: Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee; Color Design Eye Brightening All-in-One 5 Pan Shadow & Liner Palette in Bronze Amour; Jason Wu for Lancôme Artliner in Noir; Hypnôse Star Mascara ($28 - $49 at Nordstrom.com)
And of course, you need the glitter! Try Makeup For Ever glitter in metallic tan ($15 at Sephora.com).
Which look do you like the best?
