Oh that's right, I said it. I took beauty products with me on both of my summer camping trips this year. And I don't care who knows it! (A philosophy that seems to have rubbed off on my daughter; see her camping outfit to the left!)
I love camping. I love being in the outdoors, I love smelling like campfire smoke, I love the enforced close family time, and most importantly, I love s'mores. I don't even mind skipping a shower for a few days, BUT there are a few things that I really can't live without. Well -- I CAN, but I don't want to!
Here are the products that I loved having along with me on the two camping trips I took this summer:
Simple Radiance Cleansing Wipes ($6.49 at CVS.com): Oh my goodness, nothing has ever felt more refreshing than wiping off my grimy face, neck, and hands with a couple of these after a long day in the great outdoors. Walking all the way over -- in the dark -- to the campground bathroom and washing my face in the freezing tap water? SO NOT APPEALING. Spending a couple minutes luxuriating in feeling clean with these in my tent? Ahhhhh.
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist ($34 at Sephora.com): I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "This isn't roughing it! You bring shame to camping everywhere!" I know! But it felt SO GOOD! A few gorgeous-smelling spritzes on my freshly wiped face was like a day at the spa. Seriously. So worth it.
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Eye ($36 at Kiehls.com): This is something I use on a daily basis, but it felt even more needed on my camping trip, when fun was plentiful but sleep was not! With ingredients that both work to combat fine lines AND reduce redness and puffiness, this eye cream is the best. It also feels GREAT going on, so rich and smooth. Bliss anytime but especially when your eyes really need some TLC.
I guess this makes me a "Glamper!"
Do you bring beauty products camping?
