Lena Dunham is a genius. You might love her work, or you might hate it. Either way, when it comes to the Girls creator, you've probably got a big opinion about her. She's the sort of person who invites big opinions. It's a testimony to her genius. You know who was also a genius? Albert Einstein. His hair alone testifies to the fact that being a genius does not preclude making a major style misstep.
This year at the Emmys, Lena did not rock it. She did last year! Remember her '50s-style lace gown? She looked like the Queen Mum (RIP, you feisty creature) and Judi Dench had a baby! Coming from me that is a compliment of the highest order.
This year she wore a voluminous floral print that gave me Shingles. No joke. I've been hospitalized. It's not looking good. Tell Michael Keaton I will always love him.
But seriously folks, it wasn't the best. Lena looked like me as a 5-year-old swathed in my mom's tired Laura Ashley bedding. This was acceptable because, as previously mentioned, I was 5.
I could probably get away with doing this now, but only because I am not a famous lady on my way to awards show. In fact, if I were to be dressed solely in sheets, I can promise you it would be because after a bucket of Trader Joe's finest white wine, I thought what my apartment really needed was a dance party for one -- sheet dress mandatory.
What did you think of Lena's look?
