Last night, at the 2013 American Music Awards, Miley Cyrus performed "Wrecking Ball" in a 2-piece cat-emblazoned spandex ensemble while a giant feline lip-syncing the words to the song behind her. Sounds about right, right? But before that, Miley walked the red carpet in an outfit that was actually incredibly stylish and chic. An outfit similar to one Angelina Jolie wore a few years back. Girlfriend looked good. Real good. So what possessed her to change into something that appears to be the ironic love child of Urban Outfitters, MGMT, and American Apparel? Why, Miley, why? You had a good thing going.
Miley's original outfit, as you can see, was a crisp white tuxedo suit. It's tailored perfectly; stylish; and looks very sexy with the low-cut neck line. It looks fantastic on her, as not only is it sophisitcated, it's edgy. Miley clearly prefers to err on the side of less clothing, and she doesn't look uncomfortable or out of place in this outfit one bit.

I'd love to see Miley in something like this again. With her hair and shoes, she still looks every bit the Edgy McEdgerson she loves to be so much, but she still looks fashionable, and well, not ridiculous, as she does in that purple cat situation.
More suits, less cats, Miley. In 20 years you'll be happy you heeded this advice.
