Can I get a show of hands as to who else is planning on wearing leggings tomorrow for Thanksgiving? Duh. There's really no other option as far as the perfect attire for pigging out goes.
Leggings are beyond comfortable. And they're super-stylish. And they're so versatile, since you can dress them up or down to suit any occasion. But as BacheloretteEmily Maynard so perfectly stated on her blog -- leggings are NOT pants.
OMG. I couldn't have said it better myself -- and Em deserves a huge round of applause for this one. (Love her.)
Seriously, what the heck is up with so many women wearing leggings like they're a pair of jeans?!?
News flash -- they're not. Like not even close. Emily summed up how to wear leggings the right way in a couple sentences:
You have to treat them like a thicker pair of tights and if you wouldn't wear tights with a t-shirt, don't wear leggings with it either. Your top has to cover your back and front completely, otherwise you need to layer a longer tank underneath.
Amen.
Every time I'm at the mall, out to dinner, at the grocery store, or basically anywhere for that matter -- I see women walking around in skin-tight leggings with their butts out on full display. And while some of them definitely have the bods to pull off the look, that doesn't mean it's ok.
One of my Facebook friends recently posted her philosophy on leggings, and it had me nodding my head in agreement and cracking up. She simply said, "Leggings are a privilege, not a right."
Exactly. They're amazing and we should totally take advantage of wearing leggings whenever we please -- but we have to be smart about it so we don't appear desperate or trashy.
Nobody wants that ... NOBODY.
Do you ever wear leggings as pants?
