Selena Gomez posted a makeup-free photo to Instagram over the weekend, and unsurprisingly, she looks beautiful in the shot. And she really appears to actually be sans makeup in the picture, which she hashtaged "#nomakeup," which is more than we can say for some other celebrities who post "makeup-free(ish)" selfies to Twitter and Instagram.
But here's what I'm wondering: When is a celebrity who we always see looking flawless going to post a picture of themselves when they first wake up, in direct sunlight, without any filters?
I'm not trying to be a hater here, really I'm not. I quite like Selena Gomez, and, like I said, her no-makeup shot is a lot more "real" than some of the other celebrity ones we've seen. But her hair is still perfectly in place; her face looks rather sultry; and it's clearly filtered. I don't doubt for a second that Selena looks stunning without the help of makeup, but I don't think this shot is going to help any of her low-confidenced fans who would do anything to look like her.
So who's it going to be, huh? Which celebrity is going to be brave enough to post an honest to goodness photo of themselves where they really don't look hot? Where they're makeup-free and not filtered? We won't think any less of them. In fact, it'll just make us feel better about ourselves, because finally, we'll see a photo where celebrities really are just like us.
