Despite being frequently ambiguous with social media updates, Khloe Kardashian has nothing to hide ... at least in her new Cosmopolitan UK interview.
In addition to talking about wanting to "start fresh" in the New Year and discussing her recent 30-pound weight loss, Khloe also spilled a rather dirty secret about what momager Kris Jenner said about her daughter's looks when she was just 9 years old.
Words are the most powerful weapon; they can leave scars forever. She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard [my mom Kris Jenner] telling her friend I needed a nose job. I was shocked; I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ve grown into my face but I’ve had makeup artists tell me, ‘You should get a nose job.’ I’m so happy that I never have.
Ahh, so rough. I can completely relate, though. Not an excuse -- but an explanation: When plastic surgery is just par for the course in her upbringing or it's so prevalent around her, it may not faze a mom to say something like that about her little girl ...

When I was younger, my own mom discussed my nose and whether or not I might want to "smooth out" a slight bump I have in the bridge, although she reminded me that I should be happy I didn't inherit much less attractive noses from other people in our family! She also said that I might want to consider lipo if my best efforts to work out and eat right still couldn't combat genetics and slim certain "trouble zones" enough. Ultimately, I'm lucky that my pretty healthy self-esteem helped me to shrug most of that off as superficial chatter or just her way of wanting what's best for her daughter, even if it would strike someone else as a twisted thing to say. She really did mean well.
Still, of course hearing that Kris said that about Khloe makes me cringe! I feel for her that she carries that around with her as a scar ... Thankfully, it sounds like she has the good sense to know she's beautiful just the way she is.
Has your mom or anyone ever told you to consider plastic surgery? How did you handle that?
