It's not possible to be tired of Adele yet, is it? Good! OK so we've already talked about how her Grammy performance was incredible and about how fab she looked, but we haven't yet delved into the nitty gritty. I'm talking about her nails, of course. The zeitgeists over at Styleite are calling her mani the Louboutin Manicure because, you see, the underside of her nails were painted red, and the tops were painted silver. Get it? Like a Christian Louboutin shoe? Red soles?
She may be paying homage to one of the most well-known shoe brands on the planet, but Adele's manicure also looks extremely dangerous. Clearly she's more than just a gorgeous face with a beautiful voice, she's a nail art renaissance woman who could slice your throat with one flick of her perfectly painted dagger nail. Shwing! You're dead.
Adele's Loub mani requires such a scary nail length that I can't see it really working for anyone who must use their hands and fingers on a daily basis, but for glammed-up events where all you've gotta do is hold a champagne glass, or a mic, or a Grammy, it's totally appropriate.
Just, if you do do this to your nails, don't go hugging Mr. Louboutin himself. He's not exactly thrilled when people rip off his signature red-colored underbelly -- he's been after YSL for a while now and it's only a matter of time until this smart 16-year-old girl gets reamed out for her red sole stickers. (Genius!)
So paint at your own risk. And grow your nails this long at your own risk. And if you decide to go the fake-nail route, do that at your own risk, because lord knows that glue is stinky. Basically, the Loub manicure isn't for everyone. Proceed with caution. You could end up sued and/or fatally cutting someone.
