Lauren Conrad is absolutely gorgeous, which is why it's pretty shocking to hear that she's afraid to be seen in a bathing suit in her hometown of L.A. If I looked like her, I'd run around in a bikini like it was my job! But I guess even someone as stunning as Lauren isn't exempt from feeling the pressures to look perfect out there in the land of beautiful people.
It must not be very visible to the naked eye, but Conrad insists she has cellulite and says that having someone zoom in on it and take a photo of her is what prompted her swimsuit wearing fears. Take a look at Lauren's sexy topless photo on the cover of the new issue of Glamour magazine. Does she look really like someone who needs to worry about wearing a bathing suit?
She looks pretty darn good to me. Not a dimple anywhere in sight from what I can tell. But then again, this is a magazine cover we're talking about. They're pretty efficient at hiding any visible flaws. (Though I'm still not convinced she really has any.)
I have to admit, hearing that Lauren supposedly has issues with cellulite at only 26 years old makes me feel a whole lot better about my lumps and bumps at (almost) 35. No matter how much weight I lose or how much exercise I do, the cellulite on my upper thighs and butt just won't budge. And I can't help but cringe at the mere thought of putting on a bathing suit, let alone be brave enough to proudly wear one on the beach.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all just accept the fact that we have cellulite and not let it stop us from feeling confident and beautiful? I mean, if young, seemingly perfect TV stars like Lauren have dimples too and aren't afraid to talk about having them, then maybe we are one step closer to cellulite not being such a big deal anymore. We could all benefit from having a little more fun this summer instead of constantly worrying about the dreaded cottage cheese phenomenon that tends to ruin our warm, sunny days.
Has cellulite ever stopped you from wearing a swimsuit in public?
