This spring, bright colored jeans are in and seen everywhere on everyone. I love the way they look, but when I tried them on ... the look did not love me. Of course trends -- whatever they may be -- aren't a "looks great on everyone" kind of deal so I just have to admire the colorful jeans on others. But I really wanted something different besides blue or grey denim (my usual). Then I started seeing printed jeans popping up all over the place and loved them.
Luckily these did look good on me, and may be more universally flattering especially in muted colors. Check out this adorable selection of my favorite printed jeans.
These Floral Print Skinny Jeans ($39.50) from Delia's (seen right) are a great alternative to plain white. You can also wear them with a simple tee-shirt, too.
If I had to pick just one pair to be my must-have it would be the Lace Print Cropped Skinny Jeans ($88) from Free People. They are as safe as a pair of grey jeans, but have a subtle lacy print. I would like the whole outfit on that model, please.
Similar to the subtlety of the lace print are these Vanilla Star Juniors Leopard Print Skinny Denim ($22.99) from Target -- plus at a sweeter price. These are super soft and despite the roaring print are muted enough so the jeans don't feel very "loud." These come in both a grey and tan print.
The Ditsy Floral Skinnies w/Belt ($27.80) from Forever 21 comes in red and camel and are super feminine and pretty. I'd personally ditch the belt and wear with a longer tunic.
If you want to be a little more daring, the Legend Ikat Charlie Capri from Lucky Jeans ($99) have the feel of an updated acid wash but with the ikat design, which I love.
MOTO Wide Striped Jeans ($90) from Top Shop is a look I'm not sure I could pull off, but I know plenty of women who look fantastic in stripes. I love the pale blue and think these would look great with a bold colored over-sized top.
Of course there are many more printed jeans styles found in stores, both bold and subdued -- and in all price ranges and sizes.
Would you wear printed denim? Which pair of printed jeans do you like best?
