Caviar Manicure

The beauty world is raving about the "Caviar Manicure" -- nail polish studded with tiny beads.

Beauty bloggers have been replicating the look using beads from craft stores -- but now Sephora is now offering a kit that lets you get your caviar manicure on without paying a visit to Hobby Lobby.

The pros and cons of the look -- after the jump!

Created by the company Ciate, the Caviar Manicure is a two-step process. First, you paint your nail with your color of choice, then you sprinkle tiny beads on the still-wet surface. It's simple -- and the look is amazing!

Here's what reviewers of Ciate's Caviar Manicure Kits have had to say on Sephora:

I followed the tip on the box that said to apply some clear at the very tip of the nail, and I must say it is holding up pretty well so far. Some of the beads have fallen off, but I'd say it's still less than 15% or so that have been lost. I probably just needed to push in a little harder on the outer edges of my nails to make them stay better. The beads are very, very tiny, I don't think you would be able to replicate this product with the beads from a regular craft store.

... this product (surprisingly) met and exceeded my expectations. I am a swimmer and it seems to stay on pretty well even after 1 1/2 hrs. in the pool. Lasts longer than they said on the box, about 3 days (probably longer when not submerged in water as mine are) but make sure you let it dry all the way for best results.

The manicure is beautiful. It does only last a few days, but it's definitely worth it for a nice evening out on the town, special event, or just going to dinner. I love it.

The only complaints about the manicure have been that it only lasts a few days -- the manufacturer promises that it will last "at least 48 hours." This is definitely a special manicure for a night out on the town or a party. It's not going to be your choice for everyday wear!

If you're balking at the $25 price tag for the kit, don't worry! Here's a great video that shows you how to get a DIY version of the look -- and it's astonishingly simple:

Wow -- I think even I could do that! And I must admit, I'm kind of digging the look.

What about you? Would you try a Caviar Manicure?
