jennifer garnerWe haven't seen Jennifer Garner all dressed up in a while. The 40-year-old mom of three gave birth to son Samuel just two months ago, so it makes sense that she's been keeping a low profile. But! Jen was out on the red carpet in Vegas on Tuesday night to celebrate Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures CinemaCon 2012 (we all know Jen is one heck of an action hero when she wants to be) and mama looked hot. In a peachy-beigey Dolce & Gabbana mini dress and pale yellow Nicholas Kirkwood platform peep-toe pumps, Jen upstages new moms everywhere with her glamorous post-baby look.

But it's easier than it looks. The cut of the dress is really forgiving and thereby flattering -- if you're not ready to show off what you're working with, a simple shift dress that highlights your arms and legs is perfect.

Complete the look with a sexy heel (we can always fit into a pair of shoes) and elegant hair and makeup and you'll be getting "wow"s from everyone. Jen's got a team of stylists to help her out, but the only real lesson you need to learn about dressing your recently post-baby body is that shifts and A-lines are your friend.

Don't go overboard, though, we still want to know you have a waist. Jen's dress fits her perfectly in that regard -- it drapes beautifully over her mid-section but still goes in enough to enhance her waist.

Every new parent is exhausted and may or may not even have the energy to lift a hair-dryer, which is why makeup is also your bestie. Use these five awesome products to get your desired look -- these items are so easy to use, you don't even need a mirror.

And when all else fails? Maternity jeans and a t-shirt never felt so good.

How did you dress up right after baby?
