But then again, the deadly combination of eggnog and mistletoe has been known to lead to dirty deeds. For such occasions, there is holiday-themed lingerie, in all its tinseled, candy-cane thonged, fishnetted, unintentionally funny, naughty-Claus glory.
Here are 15 over-the-top lingerie sets putting the X in Xmas and a laugh in your belly.
Before we start thinking about our resolutions for 2016 and all the things we want to update for the new year, we have one last party to attend -- New Year’s Eve! It’s the single most fun night of the year, so let’s get your outfit ready and ring in 2016 with some serious style.
New Year's Eve is the night to bring out your glamour. Don’t be shy! I’ve selected two similar long black sequined gowns -- one budget friendly and one splurge worthy -- paired with metallic shoes for our final celebration of 2015. My favorite part of these outfits are the handbags: one says “PARTY" and the other one’s shaped like a champagne bottle, making your outfit extra festive! Since the dresses are embellished with sequins, our jewelry is kept understated with a pair of simple stud earrings. Since we know there will be lots of photos taken, let’s remember the all-important photo booth props to add extra fun to our selfies.
New Year’s Eve, Budget Friendly
If you’re in the mood for a sexy outfit to wear on New Year’s Eve, I’ve got the perfect dress for you. This long sequined dress from H&M has a low-cut back and a high slit in the front. The gold platform strappy sandals by Adrianna Papell and handbag by ALDO go perfectly with the outfit. Since the dress is already embellished, the Daisy Cluster Stud earrings are a simple addition. Finally, let’s add some Happy New Year tiaras to wear for all those photo opportunities.
This ASOS dress says sexy all around! It has a racer-cut style, an open back with criss-cross detail, and a slit in the back. The rose gold sandals by Badgley Mischka are just sparkly enough and complement the dress. Make sure you take a look at the Champagne Bottle Clutch by Kate Spade; you’re going to fall in love with it. It is one of the cutest bags I’ve seen and it’s perfect for this occasion. What other accessories will you need? Just these stud earrings in rose gold by Bauble Bar. Photo booth pictures are extra fun with some props, so be sure to check out my selection from Amazon.

Yes, headbands worn over mullets, we're talking about you.
The '80s offered bold, brightly colored fashions that didn't all withstand the test of time. Here's a look at some of those oh-so-fashionable trends you will probably never want to rock again.

Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.Remember we told you how 200 women have filed a class action lawsuit against the WEN hair care line, saying that using the products caused severe (and, honestly, pretty heartbreaking) hair loss? Well, the case just got a lot more serious, and whether you use the WEN line or not, you should still be cautious.
For starters, the allegations against WEN seem far more serious than initial reports show. Yes, only 200 women are part of the lawsuit. ("Only.")
But the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit committed to protecting human health and the environment, is investigating the claims. And according to the court documents they've seen, 17,000 women have filed complaints with Guthy-Renker, the marketing firm behind the supposedly all-natural shampoo/conditioner. (As well as the skin care juggernaut ProActiv.)
17,000!
And these women didn't just call and say, "Hey, I don't really like this shampoo." They allegedly each took the time to fill out a lengthy 25-question survey, detailing their horrific experiences.
But here's the (even more) disturbing part. Under current federal regulations, Guthy-Renker didn't have to alert the Food and Drug Administration to these complaints. (And didn't.)
In fact, the law that regulates hair care products is so woefully outdated (as in mostly unchanged since 1938), NO personal care product is required to be tested before it hits the shelves and you use it on your hair.
Are we the only ones who find that frightening?
We have no idea what chemicals -- and potential toxins or allergens -- we're lathering into our hair every day. Or what havoc it could wreak.
So what the heck's in WEN products that's causing such widespread hair loss? "At this time, we don't know," says Johanna Congleton, MSPH, PhD, a senior scientists with EWG. "What's more troubling is the FDA doesn't know."
You may be thinking, "Whew! I don't use WEN -- dodged that bullet." But, well, maybe not.
Some hair care products could STILL be a bad choice for your health.
"Some of the ingredients -- particularly fragrance components -- used in shampoos and personal care products are potent sensitizers, meaning they can cause allergies in otherwise healthy people," Congleton says. "These reactions can be severe."
The FDA doesn't require companies to disclose what chemicals are in their fragrance mix, so if you see the words "fragrance" on the back of a bottle, proceed with caution.
So what is safe to use on your hair? You can check out EWG's SkinDeep cosmetic database, which rates products according to safety. Or maybe now's the time to start playing it super-safe and thinking about simply making your own shampoo.

People spend their money on things that make them happy. I happen to enjoy shedding a few coins on a treatment that brings great discomfort: waxing. Yes, I'm a mom of two. No, it's not a mandatory requirement for my marriage. I just happen to like them.
Have you ever tried one before?
I know it sounds crazy to talk about someone's "vagine," but here we are. Who knew something as personal as south of the border maintenance would be a topic for discussion. I didn't think it was that controversial, but maybe I'm wrong?
Since I'm being honest about my own "lady box," I figured it's important to set the record straight. I get a Brazilian bikini wax, that doesn't take everything off. Now one time, at band camp (haha, kidding), I was talking too much with a waxer, who was filling in for my regular gal. I didn't notice I was, erm ... a little bald until I got home.
Now that we're officially acquainted with each other (my blood type is O negative, by the way), let's keep chatting.
To me, I think personal grooming (nothing too crazy) is important. It's been close to a decade since I started my waxing journey, and I can't imagine ever doing anything else -- except maybe sugaring, and laser hair removal (I really love my new waxer, so I feel I can't leave her). Sure, I had an experience similar to The 40 Year Old Virgin when I first started, but I've since learned the importance of thoroughly trimming.

Plus, things tend to work like clockwork the more you get waxed.
Oddly enough, I started waxing simply out of curiosity. Living in Baltimore, I wasn't exactly a beach bunny, where I had to worry about my tan and bikini line -- but did know a few ladies who did it on the regular.
I hated shaving, I hated those pesky razor bumps, and thus, welcomed the sticky alternative. I was sold on the fact that I didn't have to do any vaginal grooming for 4 to 6 weeks.
That in itself deserves a hand-clap of praise.

Sure, it's a little odd when you first meet your waxing professional. It's hard to transition from, "How's your day going?" to, "Please don't judge my labia," but you'll survive! Actually, I became pretty close with one of my estheticians before I left the east coast. Not only did we take pole fitness classes together (is that weird? It's actually great exercise, but we can talk about that another day), but she did my entire wedding party's makeup on my special day. See, you never know the connections you'll make in life (saved me money too).
When I first met my husband (well, not the first time), he thought I actually waxed for him, hahaha. So cute, but sorry, the answer is no. Don't get me wrong, I love him -- and try (we both do) to keep things spicy in our relationship, but waxing is a personal thing I do for myself ... and if he happens to enjoy the fruits of my hair removal, that's great.
Eight years (almost four married) and two little boys later, some girlfriends of mine still scratch their heads at why I continue. I think, if you have funds in your monthly budget (diapers are no joke), it might be worth making a priority. After all, you don't want to go back to razor days if you're used to waxing. Trust me. I've also tried to save money with those diy wax kits. Let's just say I'm not savvy in that department. Plus, my new esthetician happens to be a fellow mom with her own waxing business. My cooch is literally helping her live her dreams (I'm all about the entrepreneurial endeavors).
As far as time goes, most sessions only take 15, maybe 20 minutes, so it's not like you can't carry on with your day. Aside from finding someone to watch your kiddo, a wax session can still be manageable in a mom's life.
"Isn't that selfish to spend that much money on your vagina, now that you're a mom?" one of my friends asked me. My response is, why not? You do so for your hair and nails, and those don't personally benefit your child. Is waxing really that different?
In fact, I don't see anything wrong with moms wanting to steal a few minutes for themselves each month to enjoy something that doesn't involve their kid -- wine included.
It doesn't make you selfish at all.
Waxing, however, can make you feel like Beyoncé. Now, I don't know if she uses honey from her "Bey hive" (silly joke, sorry) to wax -- but girl, I feel like a million bucks after my monthly appointment.

...Then I remind myself I need to drive home, and come back to reality.
In the grand scheme of things, $50 a month (thank goodness for Oklahoma prices, y'all!) isn't any different from what you would pay to get your toes painted, or hair done weekly or bi-weekly at the salon. In some cases, you might find it's actually cheaper -- even though it won't be on display for the world to see.
And it can last for over a month? Child ... that can save you awkward run-ins with your kid, should he or she happen to bum-rush the bathroom, while you're trying to shave your vagina.
If you want to wax, power to ya. If you don't, power to ya. All I can tell you, is that this mama is a waxer, and unashamed.

From basic, everyday activities to manicure habits we never think twice about, you may be shocked at the ordinary things that are doing some real damage to your nails.
Joshua Zeichner, MD, Director of Cosmetic and Clinical Research in Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, shared five things you need to stop doing immediately if you want your nails to always be on-point.
1. DON'T: Cut your cuticles too much. "Cuticles protect the base of the nails, where the nail is made," Dr. Zeichner notes. "Cutting away cuticles expsose that area to potential infectious organisms."
2. DON'T: Clean out the underside of your nail too abrasively. "Trauma can lead to separation of the nail from the finger," Dr. Zeichner says. "This allows yeast to grow under the nail, preventing the nail from reattaching. This is known as onycholysis."
DO:Be careful about cleaning, especially while using an instrument that can separate the nail from the nail bed.
3. DON'T: Bite hangnails. Never use your teeth -- no matter how tempted you are to get rid of that sucker in a pinch.
DO: "Cut it with a sterilized cuticle scissor, and apply an antibiotic ointment like bacitracin," Dr. Zeichner explains. "Infections of the cuticle and soft tissue around it is known as a paronychia and can lead to permanent nail deformity."
4. DON'T: Overexpose your nails to water. "Whether it is from household cleaning, handwashing, or doing the dishes -- excess exposure to water can dry out not only your skin but also your nails," Dr. Zeichner says. "Dry nails are brittle, easily breakable, and can peel at the tips."
DO:Protect your hands. Use gloves when you are doing the dishes, and always moisturize both hands and nails after you feel they've spent a bit too much time under water.
5. DON'T: Get artificial nails. "The glue from fake nails can causes damage to the nails themselves," Dr. Zeichner shares. "While they can provide a protective barrier to the nail when they're on, when they're taken off it causes damage to your nails themselves."
DO: Own your own tips. Take care of your nails and get them manicured regularly if you desire a well-groomed look.

If you've ever had difficulty making the great escape, you'll relate to these 12 stages of one mom just trying to keep her nails on-point.
It's hard to decide which is the best part -- that intoxicating hand-and-forearm massage; the way the manicurist does the adult version of "This Little Piggy" with each of your tired fingers; or how amazing your rejuvenated hands look at the end of the visit. Of course, this all hinges on getting out of the house. Good luck, Ladies!
1.You wake up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday, super-excited, thinking about the manicure you're planning to get today. You don't normally have a chance to indulge, but you're attending a wedding at 5 p.m., and you want to look your best.

3. Hmm, you should probably do the dishes first, because you definitely don't want to ruin that mani later!

4. Your daughter wants to visit Grandma. Perfect! You'll swing by the salon on the way home. It's not even 11 a.m. You're carefree with tons of time left.

5.You left your wallet at home. Shoot. Run back into the house. Do not stop to talk to anyone! Do not even make eye contact!

6. The younger one is begging for lunch. You're not dirtying any more dishes. You'll make grilled cheese in the toaster oven, and he can eat on napkins. It's almost noon, for heaven's sake!
7.You're about to leave when your partner tells you he forgot to drop off the dry cleaning last week. He asks you to iron the lone clean shirt he has left that he plans to wear to the wedding -- which is now just four short hours away.

8. You're almost out the door when your phone rings. You don't want to answer it. It's already 2 p.m. You need to get going. But what if it's your mom calling about your daughter? Reluctantly, you answer. It's your sitter ... canceling for tonight.

11. It's 4:45 p.m., and you've had to do your nails yourself. You've also put on your makeup in a huge rush. It's not your best work, but at this point you'll just be lucky to see the bride walk down the aisle.

12.You're almost there when your guy asks if you tried a new place for your nails this time because, get this, "They're kind of a mess."

During this festive time of the year, it’s nice to give your LBD (little black dress) a rest and reach for something with a little sparkle.
I’ve created two similar outfits -- one budget friendly and one splurge worthy -- so you can mix and match the pieces to your liking. The high-end embellished dress is by Adrianna Papell, and our budget-friendly version is from H&M. Throw on a faux fur jacket, black suede pumps, black clutch, and a pair of stud earrings, and you’re ready to celebrate the newlyweds!
You’re going to love this sequined dress because it’s constructed of jersey material, so it will feel as comfortable as a T-shirt. Plus, the sequined design on the front is like a work of art. Sole Society creates beautiful shoes at a great price, and I love these d’Orsay suede pumps -- a classic style you’ll wear over and over again. The faux fur jacket is a fun addition to any wardrobe, and you can also wear it with jeans and a top for date night. The black clutch and double-sided stud earrings are staples that should be in every woman’s closet.
My two favorite pieces from this outfit are the dress and the faux fur jacket. The art deco design on this embellished sheath dress is really gorgeous, and the faux fur jacket both looks and feels luxurious. A dressy jacket like this comes in handy to wear over any cocktail dress in chilly weather. The remaining three pieces -- black suede pumps, black leather clutch, and gray glitterball post earrings -- are all wardrobe essentials that will get plenty of wear.

Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.Mary-Kate Olsen's engagement ring from Olivier Sarkozy is a massive vintage Cartier with diamonds and sapphires. It's major. But we didn't know the looks of Mary-Kate's wedding band until now. It's quite surprising.
MK's wedding band is just that -- a gold band. Quite the departure from the bling Sarkozy scored for her at a Sotheby's auction. That ring is a vintage 1953 4-carat diamond, European-cut -- it also boasts 16 calibré-cut sapphires and 1.5 carats of diamonds around that big gem. It cost $81,250.
But whatever. Money like that isn't a big deal to a big money man like Sarkozy. Still, a simple wedding band is a bit unexpected. Unexpected isn't exactly an Olsen thing.
I think we can guess that the only thing Mary-Kate Olsen loves more than her twin sister Ashley and more than her husband Olivier Sarkozy is her bad habit. And in tune with that, there were reportedly "bowls of cigarettes" at her wedding and everyone puffed away through the night. Yuck. But this simple wedding band news is a breath of fresh air. (Yeah, I said it.) And it does go with the Olsens' signature style. She isn't exactly a bold-and-busy-print kind of person when it comes to fashion. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley stick to black, variants of cream and gray, and did I mention black? Always in style.
So it makes sense that her wedding band be exactly that -- something always in style, sometimes timeless, traditional yet on trend. MK was spotted wearing only that simple wedding band the other day ... while she was photographed outside -- you guessed it -- smoking a cigarette.
