Whoa. Get a load of this photo of Jennifer Garner at LAX, looking fresh-faced, beautiful, and obviously not wearing one single hint of makeup. I'm not sure if she was coming or going, but if this shot was taken after a long day of traveling? All I can say is, what the heck is she drinking to look so freakin' gorgeous, and where can I purchase a bottle or two?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are some women who are fortunate enough to be able to pull off a makeup-free look without appearing old, haggard, and borderline ugly. And Jennifer Garner is clearly one of them.
She's practically glowing, people! Let me ask you this -- if you did not know this was Jen, how old would you estimate her to be? I'd say right around 32 or 33. Or maybe even 30.
And since we all know she's 41, it's safe to say she probably doesn't have to put much effort into looking her best in the morning.
Damn. Why can't we all be as lucky as she is to look this good without piling on the cosmetics? I can't lie ... I'm a slave to makeup. I mean, it's not like I wear a ton or anything -- but I always wear it. Like always. Unless I'm headed to the beach (hiding under big sunglasses) or the gym, I always take a few extra minutes to put on my "face" in the morning. Yes, even though I work from home. Even on the days when I know I'm not going to be leaving the house -- I still at least throw on a little concealer and tinted moisturizer before venturing out to the bus stop.
Maybe this is just my own, personal opinion, but I swear the minute I have a little makeup on my face, I look a good five years younger or so. It's amazing what covering up dark circles and evening out my skin tone does for my overall appearance -- even on days when I'm a bit under the weather and not feeling up to par.
Bottom line, I think women should do what they're comfortable with as far as how much makeup (if any) they wear goes. As long as you feel good and confident in your own skin, it really doesn't matter whether or not there's a layer of goop hiding it from the world.
But it really would be nice to be Jen. One less thing to worry about during the hectic morning rush sure would be nice.
