Well hello there, J. Lo's groin bulge. I have to admit, I kind of can't stop staring at this jock strap thingy that Jennifer Lopez has fastened around her lady parts. It's like, once you see J. Lo with a fake penis, you can't unsee it. The American Idol judge covers the March issue of V magazine and apparently is pretty, uh, ballsy when it comes to showing off what she's working with. The 42-year-old mother of two chose to wear the men's groin protector for her photo shoot because she thought "it was more graphic."
Can't argue with her there. The pictorial is eye-catching in a way that most magazine photo shoots aren't and I like this edgy side of J. Lo. Even though she's not the first to take on a masculine pose, she's definitely one of the best.
Before J. Lo, there was Madonna who built her career on pushing gender boundaries. And it seems like Lady Gaga's picked up where Madge has left off. Between Gaga and Madonna, they've probably worn hundreds of thousands of men's suits and grabbed their crotch over a million times. I'm sure J. Lo, like those two, feels that shaking up the sexuality salt shaker is not only provocative, it's also a great way to get attention, something, it turns out, J. Lo is not afraid of.
Maybe she wanted to slip her nip out at the Oscars before this cover was released just so it would be extra thought-provoking. She has nipples on breasts! She has a bulge like a penis. She's in a sparkly dress! She's wearing sweaty workout gear. The differences couldn't be more stark.
Whatever the reason for J. Lo's cover, I quite like it. V always outdoes all the other rags when it comes to keeping things fresh, but even still, I'll take J. Lo with a wiener any day over J. Lo in a safe white dress with wind-blown hair and a big, white, cheesy grin. Because we've all been there, seen that. No harm in switching things, and/or body parts, up.
What do you think of J. Lo's cover?
