Demi Lovato's Makeup Free Selfie Is Shockingly Honest (PHOTO)

Post by Maressa Brown

demi lovatoSure, Lady Gaga has been exposing what her face looks like "nude" more often these days, and Britney Spears's laidback-in-sweatpants look isn't anything new ... But it really isn't every day that we see what pop stars look like when they first roll out of bed in the morning. Maybe that's one reason DemiLovato recently took to Instagram to share what she looks like sans makeup and in a plain ol' v-neck tee, shorts, and glasses.

"Was sooooooo sleepy yesterday #TCAs," the X Factor judge wrote. In other words, she was up late the night before thanks to the Teen Choice Awards, where she performed her new single "Made in the U.S.A." with Nick Jonas. Thus, it's no wonder she woke up exhausted and looking like a ... oh, I don't know, totally normal, not at all glam 20-year-old! How shockingly refreshing!

This isn't the first time Demi's "bared all" via social media to make a point. In April, she tweeted, "Ladies, be brave today. Take off your make-up and stop using those filters! WE are beautiful!!!" Aww! LOVE IT.

And love how outspoken she is about embracing natural, realistic beauty. How she's rallying followers to do the same. Which I'd venture to guess is even easier for them to do when they see that Demi's the kind of star who practices what she preaches ... and has no problem going totally shockingly makeup-free in front of a camera from time to time.

What do you think about Demi's selfie?

Revlon's 'Moon Candy' Manicure Is Out of This World and Easy to Do Yourself (PHOTOS)

Revlon Nail Art Moon CandyI first saw Revlon Nail Art "Moon Candy" in a magazine ad that really caught my eye. (Something along the lines of ... OOOH SHINY!)

I've tried a lot of glitter polishes, but this one had a cool quality to it that seemed a little different. I really like the iridescent quality, and I was curious to see if I could re-create the look I liked at home, without the help of a professional manicurist (or Photoshop!).

Miley Cyrus Is Sick of Her Short Hair Already and We Know What’s Coming Next

miley cyrusRemember that time that Miley Cyrus chopped her long, flowing "hair" off in favor of a bleach blonde pixie 'do? You do? Okay, now do you remember thinking, upon first seeing said 'do, that it was only a matter of time before Miley got sick of having super short hair? What, you're so busy that you don't have time to think about the psychological toll Miley Cyrus' haircut would take on her? Well, I'm not. And looks like I was right. Miley Cyrus is sick of her short hair.

The "We Can't Stop" singer told Kelly Osbourne during an E! Fashion Police episode: "I'm secretly tugging on it every night and taking Viviscal [a hair growth supplement]. I'm not going to lie. But I'm going to rock it while I have it."

If Miley, who proclaimed we'd never see her with long hair again, is sick of her short hair now, my guess is it will only be a matter of time before she hits up a salon and gets a weave put in. If there's one thing celebrities don't know the meaning of, it's patience. All they have to do is think the word "thirsty" and a glass of water is placed into their hands. There's no way Miley's waiting for her hair to grow out. I've taken Viviscal myself, and it definitely works -- but not like four hours in a stylist's chair works. Miley's still going to have to wait a long time for her hair to grow out. And when it does, she'll have the dreaded "awkward phase" to deal with. Not happening, guys.

If I'm wrong and Miley does grow her hair out the old-fashioned way -- through her actual hair follicles -- I'll be impressed. And if I'm not, I'll be able to rest easy knowing that I've been able to get into the mind of yet another celebrity.

That AP Physics course is finally coming in handy, Mr. Gentry. Hat tip.

Do you think Miley Cyrus will get hair extensions?

8 Perfect Nude Lipsticks Recommended by Real Women

Sephora

A few weeks ago on The Prowl, I asked users for their favorite nude lipsticks. I've been looking for a great neutral lip color and haven't yet happened upon one that I love.

Well, I got some great advice from many women I trust, and I now feel compelled to share these recommendations with you!

For example, Stephanie Precourt, the gorgeous blogger behind Adventures in Babywearing, recommends this Dior Addict Lip Glow. "This moisturizes and enhances your natural lip color, giving you the perfect shade," she wrote. "Well worth the price! But wait! There's more!

M.A.C. Modesty LipstickMaressa Brown Levy is partial to M.A.C. lipstick in Modesty. It's a pretty color, don't you think? You can read a review of it here.

Clinique Creamy NudeCynthia Dermody likes Creamy Nude Long Last Lipstick by Clinique (which sounds a little dirty to me!). Clinique is always good for a sheer, less makeup-y look.

Drugstore.comAmanda G. calls Revlon Pearl Lipstick in Caramel Glace "my all-time fave." My budget loves this particular lipstick as well.

Drugstore.comMeanwhile, Erica Manney reports that Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait is on her wish list. "It looks pink here," she writes, "but in person is nice and neutral -- with just a bit of blush." The name just makes me feel hungry.

NordstromIf you can swing the cost, you can never go wrong with Chanel Lipstick. CafeMom producer Randy Roth likes Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Canotier.

TargetThe wildly beloved Linda Sharps is all about Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain in Honey. "Motto for this lip stain: 'Your Lips, But Better,'" she writes. I love it.

Neiman Marcus

Our most extravagant recommendation comes from Manhattan Socialite Holly Ellis, who swears by Tom Ford Lip Color in Blush Nude. It's only FORTY-NINE DOLLARS.

I'm now armed with enough information now to make a fairly confident buying decision, but I'd love to hear your thoughts as well. Do you have a perfect nude lip color you'd like to share?

Kate Middleton's Hair Almost Steals the Spotlight From Baby in Royal Family Portrait (PHOTO)

Prince William Kate Middleton

Well, I guess we really shouldn't be all that surprised -- but have you seen just how perfect Kate Middleton looks in Prince George's official baby photos?

She's absolutely glowing. Her complexion is flawless. She doesn't have one hair out of place. Her dress is simply stunning. And considering her father was the one who took the pictures, it's not like she had a whole team of people there to make her look camera ready (other than a hairdresser), which makes her post-baby appearance even more enviable. And speaking of her hair -- doesn't it have more shine and volume than ever? It always looks good, but man, it's ridiculously gorgeous in this pic.

But before we delve even further into how much better she looks than your average new mom, it's important to point out that the dress she's wearing in the pics is a maternity frock, believe it or not.

It's made by Seraphine and retails for $79, which is actually pretty inexpensive considering she's royalty and all. But even though the dress is made to fit a woman's post-pregnancy body, it appears as though Kate has shed most, if not all of her baby weight in a few short weeks.

(Excuse me while I pause to go get a brownie to console myself with before continuing on with this post.)

Again, it's really not surprising that Kate is already thin again, since she didn't really gain a lot of weight during her pregnancy. But still -- it's hard not to be just a little bit jealous, as most of us spend months and months trying to get back to our pre-baby size to no avail.

Ok, back to the glow she has going on. Isn't there something so ... motherly about Kate in the new photos? She just looks so calm, relaxed, and blissfully happy -- which makes her even more beautiful than she already is. (And if George isn't sleeping through the night, you'd never guess. Kate looks well rested, don't you think?) Being a mom certainly agrees with her, and seeing her in that role makes us love her even more.

What do you think of Kate's post-baby look?

organic skincareThe older I get, the more stuff I find myself slathering on my face and body, and the more I've been starting to worry about all the chemicals in said stuff. If you're like me, you don't want to sacrifice benefits for natural ingredients -- we want the best of both worlds! Here are some skincare products that are not only organic, but really work well.

Lucky Fan Saves Toni Braxton After Bare-Bottomed Wardrobe Malfunction (VIDEO)

toni braxtonToni Braxton suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction recently in which her bare bottom wound up being exposed while she was on stage in front of thousands. The singer was performing in New Jersey when she asked a male fan to join her on stage, and while the two were getting down, her low-back dress decided to get in on the fun, coming undone and dropping down, revealing her butt.

This is actually one of the few wardrobe malfunctions in celeb history that truly seems like an accident. Poor Toni gets super frantic after she realizes what's going on and tries to get help immediately. But talk about a happy accident for the fan. Not only did he get to dance with Toni Braxton, he got to save the damsel in distress by wrapping his coat around her to cover her up.

Check it out the not-really-safe-for-work video. (Maybe watch it on your phone during lunch or something.)

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

Poor Toni! She really looks like she didn't know what was going on! It's a good thing she was dancing with such a gentleman.

Toni commented on the incident, which happened a few days ago, saying, "All of a sudden the whole dress starts to fall apart and then I knew I was in trouble: 'Ok, something’s going on here' ... I had my Janet/Justin kinda moment." She then added, "I had to let them know that I wasn’t completely naked" about showing the audience her bodysuit.

Good call, Toni. But for the record, you were kind of naked. Not totally. But kind of. And hey, for what it's worth, you look good!

What do you think of Toni Braxton's wardrobe malfunction?

Jennifer Aniston's Sexy Red Bikini Looks Strangely Familiar (PHOTO)

jennifer aniston in red bikiniAfter hitting red carpets and press junkets galore for We're the Millers, Jennifer Aniston must've decided it was time to take a well-deserved vacay. She and honey JustinTheroux jetted down to Los Cabos, Mexico on Monday to start fervently soaking up some sun and the company of good friends Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka.

And even though we know Jen probably has her pick of just about as much couture as a woman could wear, it looks like she may have packed light ... Because check it -- she's wearing the same exact teeny weeny red bikini and sarong that she rocked the last time paparazzi snapped pics of her in Cabo back in December! OMG, you guys, even Jennifer Aniston recycles bathing suits!

I feel like it's one thing to see celebs or public figures like Kate Middleton, First Lady Michelle Obama, etc. recycling shoes and dresses. But bathing suits seem like the kind of thing they'd think they could get away with having hundreds of. They're probably sent free ones all the time! (Actually, it's more like they're sent free entire Amazon wearhouses of clothes all the time.) But no matter! Jen still wants to wear her little red bikini! I love it.

I made a point to purchase a couple new bathing suits before my honeymoon, so I'd have three total. But I will probably wear the heck out of those three, mostly because A.) I don't live in California but also because B.) good, flattering, comfortable bathing suits can be sort of an investment -- and hard to find! So I have to admit, I do take heart in seeing that Jen seems to feel there's no problem with being a creature of habit when it comes to your swimwear! No need to worry about being photographed in it multiple times or worrying that you're wearing a stale look ... Comfort above all! And well, when you're Jen, hotness too.

How much do you love that Jen's so faithful to this one bikini? How often do you get a new bathing suit?

Chelsea HouskaThe perfect look with makeup means different things for different people. For some, it's a natural look with earth tones and a solid coat of mascara. For others, it's a dark smokey eye that just screams drama. The stars of MTV's Teen Mom, they're all about the bold look. I'm constantly amazed at the bazillion different looks Chelsea Houska pulls off on a weekly basis (and seemingly effortlessly, I might add).

Kim Kardashian's Famous Butt Might Be Thanks to Plastic Surgery -- Are You Really Surprised?

Post by Emily Abbate

Kim KardashianIt's been one of the biggest mysteries in all of Hollywood: Is Kim Kardashian's butt the REAL deal? The Dash doll tried to prove her derriere's authenticity on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, even going as far as getting her butt x-rayed. When the results showed no sign of an implant, I personally was convinced and astonished by the laws of nature that Kim's backside was 100 percent Kardashian genes. Now, a source is saying that we may have all been fooled.

A source told Life & Style Magazine that Kim had fat injected into her butt after receiving liposuction on her legs, and that's why the extra oomph didn't show up on her infamous x-ray. A doctor added that Kim may even have an implant that doesn't show up on an x-ray -- one which the world may never know about.

Alright y'all, so Kim's backside may not be all her own. But honestly, what's the big deal?

Whether or not Kim had fat injections into her but, she's entitled. I mean, think about all of the celebrities, especially reality TV stars, who have Botox, breast implants, or other work done all of the time. These procedures, they're all elective. These stars are choosing to change their appearance, and if that's what they want, then so be it.

Of course Kim is going to claim her butt all-natural. It's something uniquely hers and she's known for it! You know what? That's just fine. Kim doesn't owe any of us anything. Her butt is part of her brand. Personally, I think we all need to spend less time worrying about whether or not Kim had work done on her backside, and use our time for better purposes. You know, like contemplating what work Amanda Bynes has actually had done. Now THAT is a mystery.

Do you think Kim Kardashian's butt is 100 percent real?

Kate Middleton’s Royal Portrait Dress Sells Out Fast but There’s Just One Little Problem

Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber

kate middletonShortly after the official photo of Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince George was released, the world's least surprising thing happened: The dress the Duchess of Cambridge was wearing in the pic sold out. Because in order to become a princess, you need to dress like one.

Kate wore a dress by the British fashion label Séraphine, and if you're as big a Kate fan as you claim to be, you know that this is now the third time Kate has worn a Seraphine dress in the last few months. The style of the dress -- loose-fitting with a knot at the chest -- would look good on anyone. But the bright fuchsia color? Incorrect.

Kate Middleton has fantastic style, and I admit, I've definitely thought about buying a navy blue wrap dress after the royal engagement photo came out. But ... Kate Middleton would look good wrapped in tin foil. And tin foil would definitely sell out immediately if that's what she was wearing in the pic with Baby Cambridge. Just because Kate's wearing it doesn't mean it will look good on you! Sorry, not trying to be a meanie here (you're gorgeous!), but it's true!

This style dress would flatter pretty much anyone. But the color is too bright for a lot of complexions. So maybe consider picking up the dress, but just in a different color. Oh, wait. You can't. Because it's sold out.

Middleton, you and your sense of style have struck again!

Would you wear Kate's fuchsia dress?

Julianne Hough Looks So Gorgeous After Working Out It Just Isn't Fair (PHOTO)

Julianne HoughSigh. Check out just how put together and perfect Julianne Hough looks after working out. She's not the least bit sweaty (from what we can tell). Her hair is pulled back and casual -- but it still looks cute and doesn't even come close to resembling a post-exercise bird's nest.

And how about those trendy sunglasses she's wearing? Do they scream movie star or what? Paired with her sleek, black workout gear, she looks like she just stepped out of the pages of a fitness magazine. Oh, and another thing -- as if she didn't already have an amazing body, sticking to wearing all black makes her look even thinner than she already is.

Are you jealous yet? You should be.

I mean, come on -- have you ever looked that good after a workout? I know I sure haven't. Usually when I get done hitting the gym, I'm nothing short of a hot mess. Usually my hair is matted to my head, I've got a serious case of boob sweat seeping through the front of my shirt, and I'm so flushed and out of breath that you'd probably think I was having a heart attack if I weren't walking out of a fitness center.

I know Julianne is a dancer by trade so she's used to vigorous exercise, but it's still pretty amazing that she looks this polished. Hmm. Just to make ourselves feel better, let's go ahead and assume that she showered, blow-dried her hair, threw on a little tinted moisturizer to give her skin a nice, healthy glow, and changed into a fresh pair of workout clothes before this photo was taken.

Any scenario other than that really just isn't fair.

Do you ever look good after working out?

The Tacky Camouflage Trend Needs to Die Now

Post by April Daniels Hussar

camouflage dressI know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, but flipping through a fashion magazine the other day I came across yet ANOTHER "Camouflage Trend" feature and I wanted to poke my eyeballs out. WHY IS THIS A TREND? And, more interestingly: Why won't this awful trend DIE?

You know who I think looks great in camouflage?

People in the MILITARY, that's who. The rest of us just look like weird posers, in my (ever so humble) opinion. I mean, seriously. Why are we dressing up to look like people fighting in a war? What is glamorous or, God forbid, cute in away way about that? War is awful. War is pain, and suffering, and death, and missing limbs, and sacrifice, and PTSD and veterans with permanent psychological damage.

What is the connection between any of that and a camouflage clothing slideshow for teenagers? Or a $3,000 camouflage rabbit fur coat:

camouflage coat

(Available at FarFetch.com ... got your credit card handy?!)

Or even these more affordable, yet equally odd Rampage camouflage pumps?

camouflage pump

($34.99 at Amazon.com!)

I really do not get it. At the very best, it seems like a trite way to "pay homage" to something so very serious. But it's really more than that ... it seems actually insulting to the women and men who wear military uniforms. (And I say that as someone who has no great love or enthusiasm for war in general, or for our American wars of late.) Oh, how tres chic you look in that uniform! How very GI Joe! Look, now I have the same pattern on my high heels! Hot!

Not to mention the millions and millions of innocent people who have suffered from wars since the dawn of mankind. Yeah, that's a really stylish thought, right?!

Ug, I really just don't understand it. What do you think: Am I oerthinking it or does this trend really just need to go away?!

8 Lingerie Drawer Must-Haves for Every Woman

Post by Lindsay Ferrier

Amazon

I hosted a pilot for a TV show this past week -- which meant a lot of wardrobe changes -- which meant that I became all-too-aware of things like panty lines and exposed bra straps and muffin top.

Those things are at least somewhat excusable in the real world, but on television, they're a big no no.

It all got me thinking about the arsenal of products I've learned to keep handy so that I look as problem-free as possible in my clothes. One lifesaver is double-sided Fashion Tape (Amazon, $7.26). This stuff can keep bra straps in place, hold a shirt together, and seal a dropped hem. It's a lifesaver and I'll never be without it again.

Here are some of my other favorites for the lingerie drawer ...

NordstromA good strapless bra is a lingerie drawer essential, and judging from the rave reviews, this Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Strapless Bra (Nordstrom, $60) is well worth the money. Even large-chested women swear it stays up. I'm sold!

Simone Perele

Some say this Invisi'bulles Thong (Simone Perele, $20) is the most comfortable, least-visible thong on the market. I'm dying to try it out myself. I don't exactly like wearing thongs, but with some outfits, they're unavoidable.

AmazonThere's little more embarrassing than headlights in an inappropriate setting. (Work meeting? A wedding? A funeral?) That's why I rely on DIMRS (Amazon, $29.99), which are silicone nipple covers. I use them under non-padded bras, and ESPECIALLY at the gym under a sports bra. Problem solved!

AmazonSafety pins (Amazon, $5.53) are important to have on hand in a pinch. Most recently, I used a safety pin to hold my bra straps together in the back, thus eliminating problematic exposed bra straps on TV. YAY.

NordstromYou'll have muffin top no more with the simple addition of a shaper under your clothes. I personally think Spanx are pretty comfortable. One of my favorite models is the Spanx Higher Power Brief (Nordstrom, $36). You can wear these with just about anything.

NordstromSlips are a must-have. Try to keep as many different lengths as possible in your lingerie drawer -- but I find a half-slip like this Chartreuse Half-Slip (Nordstrom, $29) is the one I turn to most often. Slips eliminate panty lines under dresses and keep them from clinging to your rear.

NordstromOf course, you'll need something sexy to put on top of all that Spanx so that your lingerie drawer doesn't look like it belongs to a 65-year-old woman. No, I can't afford this Agent Provacateur Rosalyn Basque Slip either (Nordstrom, $154), but a girl can dream, right?

I've listed even more lingerie drawer essentials over at The Prowl. Check them out -- and follow me over there for more great fashion ideas!

Stretchiest Jeans Claim to Make You Look Skinnier

Post by Michele Zipp

photo ready jeansFinding the perfect pair of jeans isn't always easy. It could take countless hours plus years in terribly lit fitting rooms to find something you think you look halfway decent in, only to see a photo of yourself in said jeans and realize you have been lying to yourself. Or rather, your jeans were lying to you, giving you this false sense of security that you did indeed look awesome when that was not the case at all.

Jeans are evil. But wonderful when you really find the perfect pair. J Brand, a brand I do really love if I didn't have to pay the price, is essentially letting you know that those other jeans are just wasting your time. If you want to look thinner, they have the answer -- Photo Ready Jeans. Smile! The stretchiest, tightest jeans ever will tuck it all in just right and you won't look so sausage-y. Really? The model looks good (of course), but what does the butt look like. Oh ...

jeansNow that's a good-looking butt. And thighs. And no muffin top. But this model is skinny already. What business does she have putting on some jeans that claim to make her look skinny??

To that, I will say this ... we don't know what she looks like naked. Perhaps these jeans really give her the best representation of her lower half. Kind of like in the way some self-tanner helps. Or Spanx. Maybe they really are working!

J Brand's Photo Ready jeans come in sizes 23 to 32 though. So yeah, not really much of a range there and WOW are there actually women who wear a 23? But they are said to be extremely stretchy jeans and maintain their elasticity and don't feel so tight you cannot breathe. The cotton, polyester, Lycra blend will lift and smooth, and it's cheaper than lipo even though J Brand sells them at prices starting at $202. Ouch.

That first pair on left ... looks dip-dyed -- it has a darker hem than the rest of the jean. I'm in love! I hate my calves and feel like these would make them look thinner. See? I've totally bought into the marketing. I do believe the right pair of jeans for you could make you look slimmer. Now if only I had $231 to spare.

What do you think of these jeans?

Kristen Stewart Manages to Do What Few Women Can With Her Shoes (PHOTO)

Kristen Stewart shoesNo matter what she wears, she always manages to look cool and trendy, and even when Kristen Stewart opts for casual sneakers as opposed to strappy sandals or heels, she still manages to look pretty damn good.

And the black Vans she's sporting in this photo? Yeah, she wears them all the time. They're pretty much part of her standard uniform these days, so I guess we can assume she broke up with Converse a while ago.

But based on how laid-back her overall style is in general -- can you really picture Kristen wearing anything else on her feet?

Most of her outfits would look a little weird if she threw on a pair of stilettos. Based on her past behavior with shoes, it's clear that heels are most definitely NOT her first choice in footwear.

Remember that time KStew showed up in sneakers and a lacy ballgown for the Snow White and the Hunstman premiere in London, and then promptly changed into a pair of heels (behind a bush, of all places) before hitting the red carpet? You gotta love it.

She's obviously no dummy, and she's well aware that heels absolutely kill your feet and are a pain in the butt to walk in. Isn't it much better to put comfort before fashion when it comes to staying steady and safe on your feet? (I happen to think so.)

Kristen sets such a great example for other young women on how to look chic and put together without sacrificing your own personal sense of style. If you can't stay true to yourself while getting dressed, then what's the point?

Do you prefer casual shoes like KStew's or heels?

Miley Cyrus Looks Like a Little Girl in Crazy Ripped Shorts and Pigtails (PHOTO)

miley cyrusMiley Cyrus is one of the few people in the world who's been blessed with a body type that looks good in basically everything. Soooo, why is she wearing this? The "We Can't Stop" singer stepped out in a pair of shorts so tiny the Hubble Telescope might not be to spot them; a tank top that had the words "Ain't Nothing But a G Thang" printed in calligraphy on the front; and a hairstyle that one typically doesn't see on anyone over the age of 2. What up, Miley?

I get that Miley is young; "going through puberty at 20 years old"; and experimenting right now, but she wears the same types of things over and over and over again. Always something super tight, always something super short. The girl has a fantastic body and she ought to show it off, but ... maybe once in a while, try something new? She should experiment within her experimental phase! It would be so nice to see Miley in a loose maxi dress. Or just, I dunno, a t-shirt and jeans. That would actually be more shocking than what she's wearing here.

As for her hair, I actually find it weirdly cute. Maybe because it reminds me of my toddler. I don't think I'd advise Miley to wear it like this every day. But for once in a while, what the hey, right?

Thoughts on Miley Cyrus' outfit and 'do?

Olivia Wilde Reveals Her Disgust for Plastic Surgery and 3 Secrets to Amazing Skin

Post by Emily Abbate

Olivia WildeWhen it comes to fresh faces in Hollywood, Olivia Wilde has got it goin' on. The 29-year-old actress who we all fell in love with as Remy on House has perfectly flawless skin, and lucky for her, she hasn't done any extra procedures to get it that way. Also lucky for her? Because of that young, fresh skin, she can still play any role that spans ages 18 to 35. Hello, opportunity!

In a recent blog for Glamour, the actress expressed her secret to looking young and avoiding plastic surgery. Slamming all the "alien-looking" plastic surgery addicts of today's society, Wilde emphasizes that it is possible to look good without going under the knife. She even goes as far as to give her three token tips to looking your best, and they're actually SUPER simple.

Ready for 'em?

Drink water, sleep eight hours every night, and don't go within 400 feet of a tanning booth. Sounds easy enough, right?

It's not rocket science either. We've all heard that drinking water helps keep skin looking good. When it comes to sleep, a poor night's rest has detrimental effects like a lackluster complexion and increase in fine lines. As for tanning? Hello, ultraviolet radiation! Just don't do it. Don't.

By listening and adopting all three of Wilde's tips, you're at least trying to do something to stay healthy and improve your skin quality. Besides, why would anyone want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on surgery if there are ways to avoid it altogether? Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I don't know about all of you, but I most definitely don't have an extra wad of cash at home for beauty purposes only.

Do you have any skin secrets?

Khloe Kardashian's Hot Pink Lips Make Her Look Like a Total Drama Queen

Post by Maressa Brown

khloe kardashianWhile her sister Kim and somewhat/pseudo/almost "brother-in-law" Kanye are probably glowing as a result of debuting their new bundle of joy, North West, to the world, Khloe Kardashian is glowing for a whole different reason! She showed off an absolutely stunning look on Instagram the other day, sporting bold pinklipstick and golden '40s bombshell waves. Well, hellloooo, Khlo!

I confess, I actually pinned the snapshot, because I wanted to show my stylist at my upcoming color appointment. I thought maybe that lush honey gold tone would make for a pretty highlighting hue. Okay, sure, Labor Day is almost here, but who says that has to mean dialing back the drama with your makeup and hair? This bright, intense look Khloe's killing it with is perfect for the hot final days of summer -- and even into the fall!

Of course, we tend to think that come Labor Day, the whites and brights are supposed to go away, and hair/nail/lipstick/handbag colors are all supposed to get darker, more burgundy, more black even. Which is actually pretty ironic, considering that you could easily argue that autumn is the vivid, vibrant, boldly-colored season in some parts of the country! So why do we have to tone it down?

I'd argue there's probably no better time to tone it UP. Go for those bright blonde highlights, rock that "look at me" hot pink lip! Because as we start to lose more and more sunlight, we need more pick-me-ups! Even more reason warm, sunkissed blonde highlights and a rockin' "look at me" hot pink lip like Khloe's definitely don't have to disappear, left to exist as just a distant summer memory. They can be worn whenever to make a dramatic statement no matter what season it is!

How do you feel about Khloe's look here? Would you do something similar with your hair or makeup, even in the fall?

Ann Taylor

Want to be on top of the trends this fall? Well get used to the idea of wearing oxblood.

Oh yes.

Oxblood.

That's the name of the color designers are mad for this season -- and if you can get past the name, it's actually a lovely color that looks good on most women.

Take this wrap sweater (Ann Taylor, $69) for instance. It would look fantastic on so many figures and skin tones.

OXBLOOD, FTW!

Will you wear this color, despite its disgusting name?

BB Dakota

I'll tell you one thing -- I'd wear this Anne Vest (BB Dakota, $89) in a heartbeat. Not only is it very current, it would go with so many different looks. This vest is pure win.

Farfetch

Multiple celebrities have been spotted out and about in this oxblood Alexander McQueen skull print scarf (Farfetch, $343). No, I can't afford it either, but I can't help loving it, can I? Get a cheaper scarf in oxblood and you'll still look hot.

Charlotte RusseOne thing you probably can afford is this oxblood midi dress (Charlotte Russe, $22.99). Put a blazer or cardigan over it and you're good to go.

ASOS

Another hot way to get the look is with a pair of oxblood Falke Pure tights (ASOS, $27). I would totally wear these (although I might look for a less expensive pair). How about you?

AllSaintsAlso in the look-but-don't-buy category for me -- this fabulous oxblood bikers jacket (AllSaints, $700). I am crazy about AllSaints, even though I can rarely afford it. When I win the lottery, you know where I'll be.

Nordstrom

More realistic is this lovely oxblood Elise pendant necklace (Nordstrom, $52). This would look SO good on you.

Free People

I've become a big fan of Free People lately, and I'm craving this oxblood oversized sweater coat (Free People, $148). We all deserve one, don't we? DESERVE.

Charlotte Russe

The most cost effective oxblood option is this mock neck tank (Charlotte Russe, $17.99). I love this, particularly as a layering piece or on its own in the summer time.

Topshop

Finally, you'd be so twee with your own oxblood iPhone purse (Topshop, $28). What? Your iPhone doesn't have its own purse?! WHY NOT?!

What do you think of oxblood?
